Your Library Card

Who can get a library card, how to apply, and how to use your library card.

The Lynnville Library does not use actual cards.  Each patron has an account and with that, a number that the library uses to check out items to the correct patron.  Patrons use their account numbers to check out free downloadable ebooks and audio books from WILBOR anytime, anywhere.

  • Anyone may get a library account free of charge.
  • To apply for a library account, you will need to come into the library and fill out a patron form.  You must also sign a form promising to use the library's collection responsibly.  You will also receive your patron number at that time.
  • How to use your library account:
    • Checking out books and other materials
    • Books, audiobooks, and magazines may be checked out for 3 weeks with one renewal possible.  DVDs may be checked out for one week and there is no renewal.
    • The Lynnville Public Library does participate in Interlibrary Loan for a charge of $3.00 per item.  These items may be kept for 1 month and may be renewable if allowed by the lending library.
    • Items may be returned by simply bringing them to the library or by putting them in the drop box.  Please do not return Lynnville's books to a neighboring library.
    • You may ask for a renewal by coming into the library, calling (642-537-2590), or emailing (  However, books that have a "hold" on them from another patron may not be renewed.
    • Books, audiobooks, and magazines are charged $.20 per day when they become overdue.  There is a two day grace period.  DVDs are charged $1.00 per day.  The librarians try to contact those with overdues as time allows.  If the fine reaches the value of the item, the patron is then charged the replacement cost of the item and is to keep the item if they locate it.
    • Please let us know if you would like for the library to request an item through Interlibrary Loan any way you wish.  If you would like us to purchase an item, please let us know any way you wish and the library will purchase what our budget allows and what seems appropriate for our library.
    • If you are waiting for a particular item please let us know and we will put it on "hold" for you.
